The lemon is symbol of wealth. In Christianity it is a symbol of true love. In Judaism - a symbol of harvest. Do you remember myth about golden apples, that grow in the garden of Hesperides who were the "Daughters of the Evening" or "Nymphs of the West"? Do you know what these golde apples are? Of course, they are lemons! Ancient Greeks admired by aroma and taste of lemon. By the legend, aromed fruit of the Sun colour was gifted to Gera as wedding gift, as symbol of eternal youth and beauty. "Its aroma amuses the mind, peel and grains is useful for a heart, flesh is excelent food and juice quenches thirst", said Greeks.
According to Romans legend, at the holiday, when news about wedding of Jupiter and Juno was come, goddess of the Earth enjoyed lemons. After that lemons becomes a permanent participant of wedding ceremonies of romans.
Vikings legends contains references to "golden apples of immortality" also...
